Jennifer Swain, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist at the Mindfully Well Center who currently practices off site in skilled nursing care facilities. There, she provides assessment and individual therapy to the geriatric population, with focus on issues such as mood disorders, anxiety, and stage of life transitions, as well as some family therapy. She additionally provides psychological consultation services for the state agency, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. Previous professional work has involved psychotherapy and behavior modification with the adolescent/young adult forensic population, including an inpatient level of care within that setting, through the Ohio Department of Youth Services.
Dr. Swain completed her doctorate degree at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in 2000. While interning, she gained experience in working with children and families, the geriatric population, and inpatient psychiatric care. She has been in practice as a licensed psychologist for eighteen years. She draws upon her training in cognitive behavioral and solution-focused approaches to inform and guide her clinical work with adults and adolescents.
